CINCINNATI, Ohio – A
University of Cincinnati football player was confirmed dead after a car crash
that took place Saturday night in Hanover Township, according to the reports.
The
University of Cincinnati football player is an offensive lineman. He is
identified as 19-year-old Ben Flick. He was on his way home from the Bearcats'
14-0 win against Miami-Ohio when he was killed in a car crash.
The law enforcement officials reported that the fatal crash took
place at around 10:30 Saturday evening in Stahlheber Road near Morman Road in
Butler County.
The
Butler County Sheriff's Office said that they are still investigating the
accident that took place in the Stahlheber and Morman roads in Butler County's
Hanover Township.
The
office said that the driver of the vehicle lost control of the car and went off
the road. Two persons were ejected from the vehicle, as a result. Flick, who is
from Hamilton, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other were transported
to the hospital.
Other
news media outlet reported that the law enforcement officials are suspecting
that alcohol might have been the major factor in the fatal crash.
Two people
were identified who were taken by helicopter to the University of Cincinnati
Medical Center. The first person who was identified is the University of
Cincinnati wide receiver, Mark Barr who is from Florida.
The
Second person who was transported to the hospital is a man from Hamilton who is
identified as Sean Van Dyne. He is a freshman from Miami, according to the
reports.
As of
Sunday, the two men were still in a critical condition.
A third person was also transported to the
University Of Cincinnati Medical Center. He is identified as Javon Harrison. He
is also a wide receiver from the University of Cincinnati. His condition has
improved as of Sunday, according to the hospital officials.
The
Butler County Sheriff's Office and the Butler County Coroner's Office are still
investigating the incident.
