Two Shot In The East Side Of Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Two men were shot over the weekend on the east side of the city of Cleveland.

Both of the incidents that the Cleveland Division of Police is investigating are shooting incident that took place in the vicinity of the East 70th Street in Cleveland. The incidents are treated as separate incidents.

The first incident that was reported concerns a 21-year-old man who was shot in the 1000 block of East 70th Street where the officers were called to respond. The shooting incident took place at around 7:12 Saturday evening.

The name of the victim was not immediately given but investigators say that the shooting started as an aggravated robbery. The suspect is still at large.

Medic personnel who responded to the scene transported the victim to the MetroHealth Medical Center. Hospital officials say that he is in a serious condition.
No other information was released.

The Cleveland Division of Police is asking for the public’s help for any information that will help them in their investigation.

The second shooting incident took place early Sunday morning also in the East 70th Street of Cleveland.

Reports say that shooting victim suffered a single gunshot wound to his leg.
Other news media outlet reported that the person who called for the authorities is the woman who heard the shot from her home and went outside to investigate. She saw the victim lying on the ground and was bleeding.

The law enforcement officers responded to the scene and found the victim who is identified as 21-year-old Walter J. Smiley. He was transported to the MetroHealth Medical Center. 
The officers said that when they asked the victim for information with regards to the shooter, he refuse to divulge information, according to the reports.

On the other hand, the woman who is a witness told the officers that the suspected assailant pointed a gun at her when she got out of her home to investigate. She described the suspect as a man who is about 22-year-old and was limping as he walked away from the scene.

Two homicides reported in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The law enforcement officials in Youngstown are investigating the death of two men over the weekend, according to the reports.

The two homicides that are being investigated are separate incident. One took place Saturday and the other was Sunday. It was a fatal shooting and fatal stabbing incidents.
The first homicide took place on Truesdale Avenue. The law enforcement officials were dispatched at the area after reports were made that shots were fired at around 4:00 Saturday morning.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a man who was shot to the head and was bathe with blood. There were shattered glasses that were found at the scene.

The fatally shot victim is identified as 33-year-old James Brown. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the medic personnel.

Investigators said that the shattered glass at the scene probably came from a vehicle. It is believed that the shooter shot the victim inside a vehicle, according to the reports.

No suspects have been identified in connection with the fatal shooting.
The second homicide is a stabbing incident where one man was killed in a Younstown apartment.

Other news media outlet reported that the incident took place at around 1:30 early Sunday morning. A neighbor was the one who called 9-1-1 emergency.

Police officers identified the victim as 28-year-old Demorris Ivan West. He was found stabbed to death to his chest on the second floor of an apartment on Hilton Avenue. 

The resident of the apartment said that the man was already stabbed when the victim walked inside the residence and asked for help. He walked into the dining room and fell to the floor. The resident then ran to the neighbor and asked the neighbor to call for help, according to the reports.

Other news media outlet reported that the investigators said that there is no trace of blood coming from outside the residence where the victim fell to the floor.
It is not yet clear whether the resident of the apartment where the victim was found dead is a suspect.

Child Stabbed During Domestic Dispute

LONDON, Ohio – A father from central Ohio was arrested and charged after he allegedly stabbed his child early Saturday morning during a domestic dispute.

Other news media outlet reported that stabbing started as a domestic violence. The woman resident of the home located in the 100 block of East High Street called for the officers from the London Division of Police after her former boyfriend showed up at her home.

Reports say that the woman told the officers that the suspect was mad at the woman because he was seeing another man. The dispute escalated and ended in the stabbing of the 19-month-old boy.

The woman, who is the boy’s mother, is identified as Brittany Cooper. She told the officer that her former boyfriend was trying to break her window and is kicking his back door open. He also said that he was throwing rocks at her window, according to the reports.

The woman’s boyfriend is identified as Jonathan Davis.  The victim was his son. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office said that the man threatened to kill the boy if the woman will not come to his home, according to the reports.

The 19-month-old child was at the home of the man when the dispute took place that’s why he was threatening to kill the boy.

Deputies from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said that they responded to the area where the domestic violence was reported at around 4:00 early Saturday morning.

Deputies later searched for the suspect and were located in the back of Oak Hill Cemetery. Davis had his knife to the side of the boy’s stomach when the deputies found him.

He took off running when he saw the law enforcement officers. He had to be teased in order to be taken down, according to the reports.

The 19-month-old boy was transported to the Nationwide Children's Hospital. He was treated from a stab wound to the side of his stomach.

Davis was also injured during the incident and was transported to Madison County Hospital. He was later transferred to a hospital in Columbus. He was then taken to jail after he received treatment.

2 Arrested In Athens Co. Human Trafficking Case

ATHENS COUNTY, Ohio – The week long investigation of the Athens County law enforcement officials paid off after two residents from the Athens County were arrested for human trafficking.

Investigators from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office said that the suspects who were a man and a woman used a 16-year-old girl to have sex with other individuals in exchange for money and drugs.

Athens County Children Services and the Athens County Sheriff’s Office are working on the case and they were able to identify the female suspect as twenty-seven-year-old Ellen Mays. She is a resident of Binder Basin Road in Glouster. She was taken into custody for questioning and later admitted to have set up the girl to perform different acts for money and drugs, according to the reports.

The twenty-seven-year-old Glouster woman was arrested and charged with compelling prostitution and human trafficking. She is being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. 

She told the officers that she arranged the meeting between the 16-year-old girl and a sixty-nine-year-old resident of Rocky Point Road in Athens. The Athens County Children Services identified the suspect as Fred Kittle Sr.

Records show that he is a registered sex offender in Athens County who was convicted and was behind bars for some time on rape charges.

The sheriff’s office issued a search warrant for the home of Kittle located in the Rocky Point Road.  The deputies found evidences inside the home but did not give details when they executed the search warrant.

Kittle was arrested without incident. He was charged with compelling prostitution and importuning. He is being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. 

The Athens man and woman are scheduled to appear before the Athens County Municipal Court Monday morning.

Boyfriend, Suspect in Tallmadge Mother & Son Murder

TALLMADGE, Ohio – The law enforcement officials in Tallmadge are close to solving the case with regards to the death of a mother and her son last month.

Latest reports reveal that the investigators believed that the boyfriend of the Tallmadge woman is the suspect in her death and her son.

The two victims were reported missing last August 7 and were found dead in the wooded area near their home on August 10. They were identified as 31-year-old Wendy Ralston and 5-year-old Payton Ralston.

Other news media outlet reported that their bodies were stuffed in a duffle bag and were wrapped with a comforter and a sheet. The bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition that it had to be sent to a professor of anthropology at Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania in order to help determine the cause of death.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office is still waiting for the result from the autopsologist.

The suspect and the woman had history of domestic violence since 2005, according to the police reports. Their relationship was on and off.

There are no details that were released but Tallmadge Police Lt. Ronald Williams said Thursday that the boyfriend was the suspect in the deaths of the woman and the boy. The case will be presented to a Summit County grand jury.

Reports say that 39-year-old live-in boyfriend did not report that the two victims were missing until such time that the woman’s mother grew weary of her daughter’s well being and notified the police.

It was the Tallmadge mother who was able to locate the remains of her daughter and her grandson. The suspect was the father of the boy who was murdered, according to the reports.

The live-in boyfriend is also living in the vicinity but he is now nowhere to be found.

Cleveland Catholic High School Stabbing

CLEVELAND, Ohio --- A student from a Cleveland Catholic High School was reported to have been cut by a razor inside the school’s bathroom Thursday morning.

The Cleveland Division of Police says that the incident is being investigated as a stabbing incident, according to the reports.

Reports say that the incident took place at the Villa Angela-St. Joseph School which is located in the 18491 Lake Shore Boulevard where the officers were called to respond at around 10:00 Thursday morning following a report that a student was assaulted by his fellow student inside the school’s bathroom.

Other news media outlet reported that the victim is a 14-year-old student. He was assaulted by another student with a razor and was cut. He was cut in the leg, according to the reports.

Medic personnel transported the victim to the Euclid Hospital where he received treatment and was later released, according to the hospital officials.

The name of the victim was not identified and it was not clear if the student that was responsible for assaulting the victim was taken into custody. Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the incident as a felonious assault, according to the reports.

Reports also indicated that the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland is now coordinating with the school in connection with the incident.

In another incident, the second suspect in the stabbing death of a Maple Heights man is already in custody Thursday morning.

The Maple Heights man is identified as twenty-two-year-old Kwan Cook. He was stabbed on Belmar Road near Superior Avenue at around 11:30 late Tuesday evening. It was his twentieth birthday when he was stabbed, according to the reports.

The names of the two suspects were not immediately given but there were evidences that points to the two suspects.

Mother And Boyfriend Arrested After Marijuana Found in Home

HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio – Deputies from the Hocking County Sheriff's Office arrested a Hocking County mother and her boyfriend after marijuana and weapons were found inside their mobile home, according to the reports.


The mobile home where the woman and her boyfriend were arrested is located on Knox Road. The Hocking County Sheriff's Interdiction Unit was dispatched to the home following a tip that marijuana is being grown in the said mobile home.

When the officers arrived at the home, the door was answered by the 23-year-old Jessica Lehman after knocking at the door. She was carrying her 2-year-old daughter when she answered the door, according to the reports.

Other news media outlet reported that the deputies can smell marijuana from outside of the residence and they saw marijuana plants from the window of the mobile home.

Deputies searched the home after the woman granted them the permission. She admitted to the deputies that there was marijuana inside the home but not much, according to the reports.

Other news media outlet reported that deputies found about twelve pounds of dried marijuana, three firearms, potting soil, a grow light, three large machete knives, and a large quantity of ammunition.

The woman had two other children who were not around when the home was searched. She was living with her 3-year-old and 5-year-old children inside the home together with her boyfriend who is identified as 29-year-old Donald Williams, Jr. who was not at home.

Hocking County Children Services were also called to the scene to assist.

The Hocking County woman was arrested and charged with one count of possession of marijuana, three counts of endangering children, and one count of illegal cultivation of marijuana, according to the reports.

Two Shot at West Side Cleveland barbershop

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The law enforcement officials in Cleveland reported that two people were shot outside a barbershop in the west side of Cleveland on Tuesday.

Other news media outlet reported that the owner of a beauty salon near the barbershop was arrested in connection with the shooting incident.

Investigators say that the incident that started the shooting was a dispute over a parking space, according to the reports.

The incident took place in the Epic barbershop at West 112th Street and Lorain Avenue where the officers from the Cleveland Division of Police were called to respond after shots rang in the area.

Upon the arrival of the officers, they found a victim in a stairwell between the Epic barbershop and the Heads Up salon with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The other victim of the shooting incident was located inside the salon. The owner of the salon was arrested without incident. No charges have been filed.

Reports say that one of the victims in the incident was having his hair cut in the barbershop when the woman got inside the barbershop and demanded that the man move his car. Foul languages were used by the woman.

The woman went out of the barbershop and returned approximately fifteen minutes later. She was with four guys whom the victim said had guns that are protruding on their waists, according to the reports.

The woman pointed at the man who was having his hair cut and the man walked out of the barbershop. One of the men tried to punch the victim but missed. The other suspect pulled out his weapon and started unloading it towards him, reports say.

The suspects then fled from the scene in a tan Lincoln Navigator.

Former Police Officer Arrested On Drug Charges

PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio -- Two men from Central Ohio, including a former Laurelville police officer, were arrested Monday evening after drugs and paraphernalia were found inside their vehicle, according to the reports.


The Ohio State Highway Patrol was doing a traffic stop in Pickaway County when the two men were intercepted. It was conducted on U.S. 23 at mile marker 13 at around 6:00 Monday evening.

The troopers stopped the vehicle because of broken tail light and criminal indicators. When the vehicle stopped, the troopers searched the vehicle and found three dosage units of suspected heroin, and a syringe, according to the reports.

Other news media outlet reported that a woman told the law enforcement officials that the drugs did not belong to the former police officer but to the passenger whom the ex-officer was giving a ride.

The former Laurelville police officer is identified as 26-year-old Ronnie L. Gillispie. Reports say that he was only giving a ride to a friend whom he did saw for years and never suspected that he was carrying illegal drugs with him.

Records show that the former officer was fired from the service at the Laurelville Police Departmentafter failing to return to work following a hand injury. He took a leave from work for approximately four months. He was fired mid-September. He did not have any bad records except for his tardiness.

The second person who was taken into custody is a Circleville man who is identified as 29-year-old Romey R. Davis. He and the former officer were arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug instruments, according to the reports.

The two men are being held in the Pickaway County Jail.

Reports say that Gillispie will appear before the court next week.

Car Crash through a Garage in Cleveland Heights

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio – Reports say that an out of control vehicle struck a house inCleveland Heights Tuesday afternoon and struck a house in Cleveland Heights Tuesday afternoon.


The home which the car struck is being rented by several people who have mental disability but there is no one who was reported to have been injured because of the crash.

The home that was struck by the vehicle is located at the corner of North Taylor Road and Monticello Boulevard. The accident took place at around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, according to the reports.

Other news media outlet reported that the vehicle involved in the accident is a two door sports car. The driver of the car was not seriously injured but he was shaken. The black Dodge jumped a curb as it was driving northbound on North Taylor Road then went to a yard, across Monticello Boulevard and into the porch of the home. The car then went to a complete halt after it crashed into the garage of the home, according to the reports.

Witnesses told the law enforcement officials that the vehicle was running at high rate of speed and seemed to be accelerating as it jumped the curb. The witness also said that he thought the driver was being chased by the police because of its speed.

The owner of the home is Bill Bray. He said that there are four people who are renting the place and not one of them was hurt, according to the reports.

There was a car inside the garage where the sports car struck and it was buried from the debris of the crash. The Dodge had to be towed and pictures were taken for insurance purposes.

Kentucky Murder Suspect Arrested In Ohio

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Reports say that a 39-year-old man of Lexington, Kentucky who is wanted for murder in Kentucky was arrested early Tuesday morning at a home in Chillicothe, Ohio.

The Chillicothe Police Department was alerted by the Kentucky State Patrol that the murder suspect was seen early Tuesday morning at a hotel in Warren County and got into a vehicle which was later traced and was found out that it belonged from a resident on Madison Avenue in Chillicothe.

Officers from the Chillicothe Police Department with the help of the Special Response Team did surveillance on the home where the vehicle was traced and later arrested the suspect at around 10:30 Tuesday morning, according to the reports.

The law enforcement officials identified the suspect as 39-year-old Gary Lee Luttrell. The Kentucky State Police and The Chillicothe department are now in communication for the man to be extradited back to Kentucky.
The arrested man is the person responsible for the shooting death of 54-year-old Steven E. Briscoe who was found dead n his driveway in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police said that the suspect is armed and dangerous. They also said that the suspect’s wife was visiting the victim when the victim was shot to death by her husband. She was able to escape and told the Kentucky offices of the incident, according to the reports.

The man’s wife is identified as Leslie M. Luttrell. She was found in Shepherdsville area after she called Nelson County 911, according to the reports.

Chillicothe Police Department said that the home where the man was arrested belonged to a relative of the suspect. It was not clear whether the owner of the home will be charged.

Navy Yard Rampage Gunman Was Hearing Voices

WASHINGTON, District Capital -- Reports that came today reveal that the man who killed twelve people Monday on a Navy Yard was hearing voices.

Other news media outlet reported that the Washington Navy Yard shooter was a former Navy reservist. Records show that he was discharged from the Navy and he had eight instances of misconduct on his record, including insubordination, disorderly conduct, 

unauthorized absences from work, and at least one instance of drunkenness, according to a report from CNN.

The 34-year-old information technology employee, who is identified as Aaron Alexis, shot and killed twelve people in Washington Navy Yard on Monday after he was able to get into a high security installation where he started to unload his weapon.

Other news media outlet reported that he was also killed after he got into a gun battle with the law enforcement officials.
The Associated Press reported that the incident last Monday is not connected with terrorism.

There are many speculations about why the man acted the way he did. Other news media outlet reported that the suspect was suffering from post traumatic stress when he participated on rescue efforts during the 9’11 attack.
Reports also indicated on Tuesday that the man was suffering from paranoia and is not able to sleep. He was also hearing voices prior to the mass shooting.

Seven names of the victims who were killed are released after the relatives were informed. They were identified as 59-year-old Michael Arnold; 53-year-old Sylvia Frasier; 62-year-old Kathy Gaarde; 73-year-old John Roger Johnson; 50-year-old Frank Kohler; 46-year-old Bernard Proctor and 61-year-old Vishnu Pandit, according to the reports.

United States Navy Secretary Ray Mabus is now reviewing the strength of the security of the base and sent two security reservists to check it out.

Crescent Springs Robbery

CRESCENT SPRINGS, Kentucky – The law enforcement officials of Erlanger are looking for the suspect who robbed a Crescent Springs business on Tuesday afternoon that caused and injury to a clerk and an accident with an Erlanger officer.

The incident took place in the Tristate Carpet Supplies, located in the 2500 block of Hazelwood Drive where the officers of the Erlanger Police Department were called to respond following a report of robbery.

Police say that a man entered the business at around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. The man was wearing a white motorcycle helmet when the robbery took place. He approached the clerk and demanded money from the employee.

Other news media outlet reported that the unidentified man forced the store employee to the floor which injured the clerk. He then took cash and left the scene.

The business employee called the authorities and when they arrived at the scene, the suspect already left. The employee said that he heard a sound of a motorcycle leaving the scene after the robbery, according to the reports.
Reports also said that there was no weapon that was seen during the robbery. The store employee suffered from minor injuries.

The Elsmere Police Department says that an Erlanger Police cruiser was involved in an accident at Buttermilk Pike and Anderson Road. The officer suffered from minor injuries, according to the reports.

The Elsmere Police Department which is handling the incident described the suspect in a report who is a white male, approximately five feet and eleven inches tall. He weighs between one hundred eighty and two hundred pounds. He was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with a hoodie, blue jeans, white shoes and white motorcycle helmet.
The Elsmere Police Department and the Crime Stoppers are now asking for the public’s help for information with regards to the identity and location of the suspect.

Cancer Patient Beaten And Robbed

COSHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio – The culture of today is getting worst and us becoming ruthless, heartless.
This report shows people do not care anymore. A Cancer patient in Coshocton County was beaten and robbed by two male suspects in his own home.

Other news media outlet reported that the cancer patient was also ducted tape and was threatened of his life if he failed to open the safe.

Deputies from the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office said that the cancer patient was inside the home when someone knocked on his door and when he answered the door; one man punched him to his face, according to the reports.

When he was already down, the two men jumped on him and one of them duct taped his feet while the other suspect tried to duct tape his hands. He also said that he was kicked at the back of his head and to his ribs.
The cancer patient is identified as 51-year-old Terry Gisinger. He told the detectives that he was now able to see the face of the two suspects because they were wearing ski masks when they robbed him.

Detectives in Coshocton County said that the two suspects took the victim’s pain medication, a pistol, cash and even the safe that weighs about two hundred pounds.

Gisinger said that the safe was big and heavy. He said that it is impossible that nobody noticed the two suspects. He is hoping that the two suspects will be captured, according to the reports. As of today, the two suspects are still at large and many of the victim’s neighbors are angered by what the suspects did to the cancer patient.

Coshocton County Sheriff's Office said that the two robbery suspects were looking for drugs and quick cash. These people need to be captured because they are going to terrorize any one just to have drugs and quick cash.

The Sheriff’s office is now asking for the public’s help for any information that will help them locate the suspects.

Former Deputy Guilty Of Raping 5-Year-Old

MARION, Ohio – Reports say that a former deputy from Marion County Sheriff's Office and corrections officer was guilty of raping a five-year-old child in Marion County.

Other news media outlet reported that the man also raped other children who were in his care. He was babysitting children when he raped the children. His girlfriend’s run a babysitting business and when she was not available, it was entrusted to him.

The man who was convicted is identified as 28-year-old Randy N. Spencer. Ohio Attorney General's office said that the man was found guilty of four counts of rape, all first-degree felonies.

The convicted man was working as a correction officer in Delaware County and was an auxiliary officer in Marion County when he committed the act. It was in June 2012 and April when it happened, according to the reports.
Marion County Common Pleas Court Judge Jim Slagle said that the former deputy is facing fifteen years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment. He is not also allowed to be paroled. He will be sentenced this 27th of September.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was the one who handled the investigation. He was laid off from the Marion County in late 2011. He was employed at the Delaware County Jail early 2012, according to the reports.
Her girlfriend is identified as Katelyn Currier. She was handling thirteen children when the act was committed. She was babysitting the children in her homes in Caledonia and Marion. She did not allow the Bureau of Criminal Investigation agents to talk to her children.

Avon Lake woman pleads guilty For sex and Drug Trafficking

CLEVELAND, Ohio – An Avon Lake woman who helped run an online prostitution from a house that is rented in Elyria pleaded guilty this morning to conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking and drug trafficking.

The Avon Lake woman is identified as twenty-three-year-old Ashley Onysko. She is accused of helping the 37-year-old Jeremy Mack from Elyria in running an online prostitution, according to the reports.

Reports say that he will tell the women that in order for them to pay their debt; they will have to engage in sex with him as payment for the drugs. Jeremy Mack held the women in the Tattersall Court house where he was renting and took the women’s cellphone. He then told the women that they will have to engage in commercial sex acts in order to pay for her drug debts, according to the reports.
