Boyfriend, Suspect in Tallmadge Mother & Son Murder

TALLMADGE, Ohio – The law enforcement officials in Tallmadge are close to solving the case with regards to the death of a mother and her son last month.

Latest reports reveal that the investigators believed that the boyfriend of the Tallmadge woman is the suspect in her death and her son.

The two victims were reported missing last August 7 and were found dead in the wooded area near their home on August 10. They were identified as 31-year-old Wendy Ralston and 5-year-old Payton Ralston.

Other news media outlet reported that their bodies were stuffed in a duffle bag and were wrapped with a comforter and a sheet. The bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition that it had to be sent to a professor of anthropology at Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania in order to help determine the cause of death.

The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office is still waiting for the result from the autopsologist.

The suspect and the woman had history of domestic violence since 2005, according to the police reports. Their relationship was on and off.

There are no details that were released but Tallmadge Police Lt. Ronald Williams said Thursday that the boyfriend was the suspect in the deaths of the woman and the boy. The case will be presented to a Summit County grand jury.

Reports say that 39-year-old live-in boyfriend did not report that the two victims were missing until such time that the woman’s mother grew weary of her daughter’s well being and notified the police.

It was the Tallmadge mother who was able to locate the remains of her daughter and her grandson. The suspect was the father of the boy who was murdered, according to the reports.

The live-in boyfriend is also living in the vicinity but he is now nowhere to be found.

Other news media outlet reported that the investigators are treating the case as a homicide.
