Drunken Driver Crashes In Mentor

MENTOR, Ohio – It was recently reported on this site that three individuals were killed on a head on collision between two vehicles and one of the victims was a 9-year-old boy. The main factor of the fatal crash was also alcohol. The driver that caused the accident was drunk. The fatal crash took place in the city of Columbus.

This report is also related to drunken driving which should serve a lesson to every driver not to drive if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The incident took place in Mentor where the man was believed to be drunk and crashed his vehicle into a metal utility pole and into the Mentor Public Library on Mentor Avenue, according to the reports.
The Mentor Division of Police reported that the incident took place at around 3:00 early Sunday morning, reports say.
Other news media outlet reported that the o
fficers from the Buick Century also responded to the scene and found the vehicle with a significant damage on its front part. The sign of the library was also damaged.
The officers were not able to find the driver of the vehicle when they arrived at the scene. Witnesses said that the man fled on foot after the crash.

Reports say that the suspect is from Cleveland. His vehicle snapped the telephone pole into two which was struck by his vehicle before it ended up at the Mentor Public library.
The man was later identified by the Mentor Division of Police as thirty-year-old Ryan Fitzpatrick. He was arrested after officers located him walking on the Center Steww Bridge.

When the officers took him into custody, he told the officers that someone robbed him and stole his car. Reports indicated that the officers noticed that he was intoxicated while they were questioning him.
He is being held on charged of OVI, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to control his vehicle, according to the reports.
