Fatal Crash Along U.S. 62


COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Franklin County Sheriff's Office suspects that the crash that took place in southern Franklin County late Saturday is a drunk driving crash, according to the reports.
In the above mentioned incident, there were three people who were killed and five other individuals were injured.

Franklin County Sheriff's Office said that the deadly crash took place at around 11:20 late Saturday evening at U.S. 62, at Big Darby Creek Road, in Orient.

The vehicles which were involved in the fatal crash were a Pontiac Vibe and a 2012 Honda Accord. The two vehicles had a head-on collision.

Deputies say that the Pontiac veered to the left as it was travelling southbound on U.S. 62 near Pleasant Township into the center of the road and directly in the path of the Honda Accord.
Other news media outlet reported that two male individuals who were the passengers of the Pontiac were pronounced dead at the scene.

Reports also say that a nine-year-old boy was transported by the responding paramedics to the Nationwide Children's Hospital. Hospital officials say that he died moments after he arrived.
The driver of the Pontiac was transported to the Grant Medical Center. He is listed in a serious condition. There were four other individuals from the Honda Accord who were also hospitalized, according to the reports.

Deputy’s from the Franklin County Sheriff's Office now believed that the driver of the Pontiac was drunk when the accident took place, according to the reports.

Other news media outlet also reported that the investigators said that drugs and alcohol are the main factors of the crash. However, there were no charges that were filed in connection with the fatal crash.
