Akron Man Charged With Aggravated Murder

AKRON, Ohio – The man who is responsible for the shooting death of a twenty-one-year-old Akron man late Thursday afternoon was arrested and charged, according to the Akron Division of Police.

The suspect is identified by the United States Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force as thirty-six-year-old Marcus L. Turner. He was arrested Friday morning for charges of Aggravated Murder and Felonious Assault, according to the reports.

He was arrested in connection with incident that took place late Thursday evening at around 11:00 p.m. in the 1400 block of Alphada Avenue, located near Brittain Road and East Tallmadge Avenue where the shooting incident took place.

Other news media outlet reported that prior to the shooting; an altercation ensued between the shooter and the suspect that prompted the shooting incident.

The law enforcement officials responded to the scene and found the shooting victim at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds. Medic personnel transported the victim to the Summa Akron City Hospital but he later died from his injuries. His body was transported to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, according to the reports.

The name of the victim was not immediately given pending the notification of his next to kin. It is only reported that he is a twenty-one-year-old man who is from Akron.
Other news media outlet reported that the suspect was arrested by the Akron Police Department homicide detectives and the members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force on Friday morning.

Reports also say that he was arrested without any incident.
On another report, rewards for information with the death of the 19-year-old Taylor Robinson increased to $7,000 by the Summit County Crimestoppers. She was once reported to have disappeared and was discovered dead by two hikers.
